Frequently asked questions
What cursive writing styles are available?
Four styles: Traditional (Zaner-Bloser) — the most common formal school cursive; Modern (D'Nealian) — rounder letters for an easier print-to-cursive transition; Natural — relaxed everyday handwriting; and Elegant — a decorative bouncy script for creative writing.
Which writing style should I choose?
If your school uses Zaner-Bloser, pick Traditional. If your students learned D'Nealian print, pick Modern for the smoothest transition. Natural is great for free-writing journals, and Elegant works for cards or display projects.
What fonts are used for the cursive model?
Each style uses a different open-source Google Font: Playwrite US Trad (Traditional), Playwrite US Modern (Modern), Cedarville Cursive (Natural), and Dancing Script (Elegant). All are free and licensed for educational use.
Is this the same as a TPT cursive pack?
This tool generates simple read–trace–write pages with your choice of our built-in silly lines or your own sentence. It is an original QuizFlex free tool, not a copy of any commercial workbook.
Does my sentence get uploaded to a server?
No. The worksheet is built in your browser. We do not send your text to QuizFlex for this tool. Print and PDF are generated locally on your device.
How should students use the worksheet?
Read the line aloud, trace the light gray cursive model with pencil, then copy the same sentence on the ruled lines. Adjust the number of practice lines to match your lesson length.
Can I use my own spelling or vocabulary list?
Yes. Choose "Your own sentence" and type a classroom-safe sentence (at least three words, up to 200 characters), then print or download the PDF.
