QuizFlex makes it simple for teachers to create classes, assign quizzes, and track how every student is performing — all from a single dashboard. Students, on the other hand, get a focused view where they can join a class, take assigned quizzes, and see their own progress.
This guide walks through the complete workflow from both perspectives: Teacher and Student.
Part 1: The Teacher Experience
Step 1: Create a Class
- Go to My Classes from the sidebar.
- Click + Create Class.
- Give your class a name (e.g., "10th Grade Biology") and an optional description.
- Click Create. Your class is ready.
Every class gets a unique PIN code (e.g., 5WH8WD). Share this PIN with your students so they can join.
Tip: Click the Copy button next to the PIN to quickly share it via chat, email, or on your classroom board.
Step 2: Create a Quiz
Before you can assign a quiz, you need one. QuizFlex lets you generate quizzes from almost anything:
- Type a topic — e.g., "World War II causes and effects"
- Upload a PDF — your lecture notes, textbook chapters, or worksheets
- Paste a YouTube URL — QuizFlex extracts the content and generates questions
- Upload screenshots — photos of handwritten notes or slides
- Paste any text — articles, excerpts, study material
QuizFlex's AI will generate multiple-choice, true/false, short answer, or fill-in-the-blank questions automatically. You can review, edit, add, or remove questions before saving.
Step 3: Assign a Quiz to Your Class
- Open your class from My Classes.
- Go to the Quizzes tab.
- Click + Assign Quiz.
- Select a quiz from your library in the dropdown.
- Click Assign.
The quiz is now available to every student in the class. You can assign multiple quizzes — each one appears in the Quizzes tab.
Step 4: Track Student Progress
Click the Results tab inside your class to see:
Class Leaderboard
A ranked list of all students based on their average quiz score. The top three students get medal badges. You can filter by:
- This Week — see who's been active recently
- This Month — monthly performance snapshot
- All Time — cumulative rankings
Quiz-by-Quiz Results
Click on any quiz to expand a detailed breakdown:
- Completion rate — how many students out of the total have completed the quiz
- Average score — the class average for that quiz
- Per-student details — each student's score, correct answers, time taken, and completion date
This gives you a clear picture of which quizzes are challenging and which students might need extra help.
Step 5: Share Flashcards and Notes
Beyond quizzes, you can also share flashcard decks and notes with your class:
- Go to the Flashcards or Notes tab
- Click Share Deck or Share Note
- Select from your library
Students will see these shared materials in their class view.
Part 2: The Student Experience
Step 1: Join a Class
- Go to Study Groups from the sidebar.
- Click Join Group (or Join with PIN).
- Enter the PIN code your teacher shared (e.g.,
5WH8WD). - Click Join. You're in!
The class now appears in your study groups list. Click on it to see everything your teacher has shared.
Step 2: Take a Quiz
- Open your class.
- Go to the Quizzes tab.
- You'll see all quizzes your teacher has assigned, each showing the number of questions and the date it was shared.
- Click Take Quiz next to any quiz.
You'll be taken to the quiz-taking screen where you can:
- Answer questions one at a time or navigate freely
- See a timer (if the teacher set a time limit)
- Submit when you're done
After submitting, you'll immediately see your results: score, correct/incorrect answers, and detailed explanations for each question.
Step 3: View Your Results
Your quiz attempts show up in multiple places:
- Recent Activity on your dashboard — your latest quiz scores at a glance
- Quiz Results page — detailed review of every question with AI-powered explanations
- Class Leaderboard — see how you rank against classmates (if enabled by the teacher)
Step 4: Access Shared Materials
Your teacher may also share:
- Flashcard decks — great for quick review and spaced repetition study
- Notes — study materials and reference content
Find these under the Flashcards and Notes tabs in your class view.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can a student create their own quizzes? Yes. Students can create quizzes for personal study using all of QuizFlex's AI tools. These personal quizzes are separate from class-assigned quizzes.
Can a teacher take their own assigned quiz? Yes. Teachers are members of their own class with admin privileges, so they can take any quiz they've assigned.
Do students see each other's scores? Only if the class leaderboard is enabled. The leaderboard shows rankings and averages but not detailed answer-by-answer breakdowns of other students.
Can I assign the same quiz to multiple classes? Yes. A quiz can be assigned to as many classes as you like.
What happens if a student retakes a quiz? The leaderboard and results show their best score. All individual attempts are recorded so the student can review their own history.
